

She was born in Lewiston, Maine July 12, 1931. The daughter of Howard and Doris (Wood) Thomas of North Auburn. She attended Edward Little High School and graduated in 1949. She married Charles Hayford Wight on July 27, 1950.
She served as Chapter Regent of Mary Dillingham NSDAR: was a past President of the Woman’s Literary Union; is a Life Member of the Garden Club Federation of Maine; and Emeritus Flower Show Judge. A member of the Widow’s Club of Kora Shrine and a member of the Auburn Methodist Church. She has served as secretary of the North Auburn Cemetery Association. She served 15 years at Heritage Rehabilitation and Living Center as a CNA, CRMA and Activities Director.
She and her husband traveled widely in the United States and Canada, and spent many summers at Moosehead lake. She enjoyed doing crafts, gardening, researching local histories and being with family and friends.
She leaves a daughter Pamela Adams of Lewiston, ME; a son Charles Wight and wife Doris of Sabattus, ME; a son David Wight and wife Kristina of Ithaca, NY. Also 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandsons. Her sister Terry Lebel and husband Donald, many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by husband Charles, son John, brother Kristin and both her parents.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 from 2 - 4 pm at The Fortin & Pinette Group, 217 Turner Street, Auburn. A Memorial Service will be held at 4 pm at the funeral home.
Burial will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at 11 am at North Auburn Cemetery, Auburn, ME.
