Danny Leon Wood

Born in Haskill, Texas to Clifton and Ella Mae Wood, Danny was one of six children. He attended Shafter High School and lived in the city of Shafter for many years where he raised his family. He has a son (Jason) and a daughter (Tiffany). Later in life, he relocated to Bakersfield. He was an active member of Valley Bible Church in Shafter, and then later at Valley Baptist Church in Bakersfield. It was during his time at Valley Baptist Church in the singles group that he met his wife, Debbie Arvidson. They enjoyed traveling, camping in their RV, spending time with family, and hosting annual dog birthday parties for their Shelties.

Danny is survived by his children Jason (Melissa) Wood, Tiffany (Gary) Mashburn; grandchildren Sarah, Katie, Jordan, and Calyn; great grandchildren Mikey, Oliver, Emma, Elias, and David; siblings Jane and Ricky; sister-in-laws Janet (Mark) Garcia and Bonnie Tullos.

Danny was preceded in death by his wife, Debbie Arvidson Wood; his brothers Kent, Herby, and Carl Wood; and his parents Clifton and Ella Mae Wood.

Danny loved life! He was a kind person with a big heart who cared deeply for others. His optimism and sense of humor will be missed by all. As a believer in Jesus Christ, his faith gave him great peace knowing he would spend eternity in Heaven.

A graveside service for Danny will be held Tuesday, July 22, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, CA 93306.
