

Etta may was born April 1, 1917 to James Ellis Bosanko and Sadie (Bowman) Bosanko. She passed away on July 30, 2011. Etta May Queen was married to Thomas D. Queen in 1941. She worked for the Bakersfield City School District in the kitchen, first as a cook and later as the Compton Jr. High Cafeteria manager.
Etta May loved to travel and would go with her husband and grandchildren fishing near Bishop or camping at the Colorado River. She loved babies and children so each addition of a new great grandchild brought her new found joy. This love created a bond to each of these children that was stronger than most. she was a caring mother, a Wonderful grandmother and great grandmother.
She leaves behind her son Dave Queen and his wife Catherine Miller who spent a great deal of time not only as a loving daughter-in-law but also as a caregiver. She also leaves her grandchildren Cherie (Queen) Riehle, John Queen, and Christopher Queen and all of their children that will miss her dearly.
She loved the Bible and had her great grandchildren read it to her when they were able.
Two of her favorite verses were Matthew 5:3 and Matthew 6:9 ( The Beatitude and the Lord's Prayer).
Etta May was preceded in death by her husband Thomas, her eldest son Bill and her parents, James Ellis Bosanko and Sadie Bosanko, who are celebrating their reunion with her now. She was loved and will be missed by all.
