Greg was born in Schenectady, New York on January 3, 1947, to George and Lenamae Statezni. He studied Geography at Sonoma State University from 1976-1978 and continued his education at the United States International University, receiving his teaching credential in 1987. Greg taught Kindergarten through Third grade at Pioneer Drive School and other Bakersfield city schools.
Greg had a love for mission work and studied Muslim Cultures at the US Center for World Missions. He enjoyed his time as an ordained Deacon/Vicar at St. Mark's Anglican Church in Shafter for over 4 years. His love for the word of God was present throughout his life.
Greg is survived by his children, Michelle Aldridge, Kathryn Moors, Joy Bravo and Tim Statezni, his grandchildren McKenna, Alicia and Tessa Aldridge, Hannah, Zachary and Lauren Moors, Emily and Isabelle Bravo and Maverick, Major and McCoy Statezni, his brother David Statezni, sister-in-law Bonnie Statezni, nephew Nathan Statezni and niece Laurie Statezni.
Services for Greg will be held at Trinity Anglican Church, 11300 Campus Park Drive, Bakersfield on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 2:00p. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Greg's name to the Kern Literacy Council.
