It is so hard to believe you are gone, Grandpa. I miss you so much, but I am so glad you are free of your ailments that pained you here on earth. I so cherish the amazing meals we shared and how you inspired my love of good food and cooking. I will always remember you teaching me to pickle okra and how we both placed in the Fair competition. Every time I pickle something, taste a lemon merengue pie, or look at my little Eli Jack, I will remember you. I promise we will take good care of Grandma. Love you and we will see you again.

Jack's smile!  Welcoming, friendly, warm!  This is what first comes to mind when remembering Jack. And that man could dance!  I am thinking of that father-daughter dance at Jeanne and Pete's wedding. The whole family had fun!  And Jack was a good cook too often sending "care packages" home with visiting family.  A man who could dance and cook!  It doesn't get much better than that.

You and your family you've left with us have been in my constant thoughts and prayers.  May you be running with the angels enjoying your ultimate reward in heaven now.  Your legacy and love will live on here through Ms. Judy, your daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Thank you for making the world a better place, Mr. Jack.  You will always be remembered by me.  Rest in Peace.
