Jackie "Jack" Alton Gentry

Jackie "Jack" Alton Gentry, age 82, of Plainville, Kansas went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 14, 2021. Jack was born June 7, 1939, in Altus, Oklahoma. He spent most of his life in Bakersfield, California.

A celebration of life for Jack will be held Saturday, June 11, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Hillcrest Memorial Chapel, 9101 Kern Canyon Rd, Bakersfield, California 93306. A graveside will occur at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Jack was born to Ludie & Ammie Gentry. He is proceeded in death by his parents, his brothers, Melvin, Duane, Jim, Burley, Burnis & Dennis, Daughter Becky & Son Eric. He leaves behind his loving wife of 48 years Linda, Sons Ronnie, Steven, Anthony, and James & daughters Ronda, Jackie, Tammy & Cheree Sisters Wilma Jean,Yvonne, Brother Ronnie, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins & friends, and his devoted dogs Molly & Izzy.

Jack was a hardworking, busy man with many talents & hobbies including building, riding, and racing motorcycles. He loved restoring & painting classic cars & playing the harmonica. He loved traveling to the beach, country music & dancing. He loved comedy & often told the silliest jokes. He had a big heart and was soft-spoken and he was funny. He always helped people in need. He loved animals, he had donkeys, goats, ducks, chicks, and many others.

He was known for his work in the RV business and owned Gentrys Rv where he worked with his son Ronnie whom he passed down the knowledge of his trade, while his wife Linda worked in the office.

He lived in many places including OK, CA, TX, and Plainville, KS. where he passed away.

Jack was admired, respected, and loved by so many and he will be dearly missed.
