Jessie Gomez was a beloved and nurturing wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend to those who were privileged to be part of her life. Jessie was born on June 5th, 1936 in Lindsay, CA and later moved to Chino, CA where she met the love of her life and best friend, her devoted husband Richard Gomez. Together with their unconditional love, they started a beautiful family of 6 children, 14 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren. With her family by her side in the privacy of her home, Jessie passed away during the early hours of January 29th from complications associated with cancer.
Jessie was the heart and soul of her family. Over the years, Jessie was a devoted and loving homemaker, an astute business woman, and an active member of her faith. Jessie was baptized as a Jehovah’s Witness in 1950 and had served Jehovah faithfully until her death. Jessie’s loving memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched over the past 74 years. She will remain in Jehovah’s memory.
Jessie is survived by her husband Richard S.Gomez and their children Richard Gomez, Lorraine Gomez, and Loretta Valles. Jessie is also survived by14 grandchildren, and 23 great grandchildren. Jessie Gomez is predeceased by a son and daughter, twins who passed away as infants, Deborah and Richard Gomez Jr. and also by her second born daughter, Debra Gomez Reynoso, who passed away tragically in June of 2005.
The public viewing will be held on Tuesday, February 1st at 4:00 pm at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Bakersfield, CA. Services will be held on Wednesday, February 2nd (same location) at 10:00 am, followed by a private burial.
