

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Juanita "Janie" Gutierrez, age 62, of Bakersfield, California. Janie was born on November 15, 1962, to parents Luz and Juanita Gutierrez. She departed this world tragically on December 28, 2024, leaving a void in the lives of all who knew and loved her. Most importantly our beautiful Janie was a lovely soul who believed in Jesus Christ and in his resurrection and his promise of Eternal Life. Our hearts are consoled by the fact that Janie is now reunited with her beloved parents and with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Janie was a vibrant spirit whose laughter and kindness touched everyone she encountered. With an unwavering dedication to her family and friends, she was often seen as a pillar of strength and compassion. Her genuine nature, coupled with her infectious smile, left an indelible mark on the hearts of those she met. Janie shared her love of cooking with her family and friends. She was proud of her many talents and enjoyed sharing all she knew with her many friends. Janie was also the family historian and her quick wit, intelligence and charm will be missed.Janie never met a stranger.
Survived by her children son Gary Ramirez, daughter Elaine Romero, son- in- law Sonny Romero, grandchildren Gavin, Sophia, and Aveline Romero. Her brothers and sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews and countless friends.
A memorial service will be held in Janie's honor on Saturday, February 1, 2025, details listed below with hyperlink for directions to Valley Bible and Hillcrest Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to gather, share stories, and celebrate Janie's beautiful life.
Though Janie's time with us was cut short, her love and warmth will forever remain in our hearts. She will be remembered for her boundless compassion, her joyful laughter, and her unwavering strength—traits that will inspire us to honor her memory every day.
Janie, tragically lost her life as a result of the profound and devastating effects of domestic abuse. She exemplified courage and strength, Janie would want her journey to bring awareness to the importance of speaking out against violence in all its forms.
