Bakersfield – LaVerne passed away into the arms of Jesus on August 24, 2024, at the age of 95. LaVerne died peacefully in her sleep under the loving care of her family and Memorial Hospital Hospice Care. LaVerne lived a fulfilling life and was committed to her family and faith.
LaVerne traveled from Memphis, Tennessee, to visit her parents in Bakersfield in 1947. While visiting, she met her true love, Orville Glenn. They married five months later on February 19, 1948. At the time of Orville's passing in 2002 they had been married 54 years.
LaVerne and Orville were blessed with two children Shelia Pafford (Dan) and Rick Glenn. LaVerne also leaves behind 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind many dear friends. She attended Highland Church of Christ.
A funeral service for Laverne will be held Monday, September 16, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Funeraria Del Angel Hillcrest, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, CA 93306, followed by a graveside from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
