Luis Olid, 78, born in Mexico a long-time resident of Ventura County and a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away at his home in Bakersfield, CA on November 24, 2023. After a long battle with cancer, Luis passed away peacefully while surrounded by his loving family.
He was a devoted Catholic who was extremely wise, intelligent, kind, affectionate, loving, and strong in his faith with God. Luis followed his childhood dream and became a professional Mexican singer at an early age. He was well known for his beautiful and powerful voice and the contributions he made to music. Although he had a great passion for singing, bartending, gardening, and sports, he will always be recognized as a devoted husband who devoted his entire life to his beautiful and loving wife of 47 years.
Luis was the son of Aureliano and Silvina Olid. He is survived by his wife Esther, his children David (Shantel), Marisol(Anthony), Susanna, and Luis (Sonia), 19 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and many close friends and family.
A funeral service for Luis will be held Sunday, December 10, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Hillcrest, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, CA 93306. Memorial donations in place of flowers may be made.
