Luke Robert Lopez, 62, of Bakersfield, CA, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025.
Born on August 10, 1962, in Bakersfield, Luke was the son of Ronald and Helen Lopez. After
graduating from East High School, he proudly served in the United States Air Force for 15 years. A
cancer survivor, he retired from the Air Force with honor and returned home to Bakersfield, where
he went on to work for the United States Postal Service. He dedicated 24 years there before retiring.
Luke will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his country, his strong work ethic, his
sense of humor, and his love of cooking for family and friends.
He is survived by his four children: Lisa Hayes (Patrick), Ida Biggs (Jerry), Antoinette Sillas
(Carlos), and Luke Lopez (Suzy); his six grandchildren: Athena Peterson, John Hayes, Landen
Biggs, Lucas Biggs, Emily Aguilar, and Vincent Silas; his brothers Larry, Matt, and Mark Lopez;
and his sisters Rosemarie Mendoza, Virginia Lopez, and Antoinette Sosa.
