

Maxine Carlock, born November 12, 1921 Mounds, OK. Mary graduated Oaks High School, Valedictorian of her class. being an avid basketball player Pickett Prairie, OK where she grew up. She continued her love of sports by cheering for OSU of whom she was a devoted fan. Mary's other love was baking. No one went hungry around Mary! Mary was employed by Thrifty Drug Store over 15 years and belonged to the Retired Retail Clerks Union. She was one of the founders of the Ben Austin Greenfield Senior Center and became their trip coordinator. In 2000, Mary was recognized for over 1000 hours with Volunteer Programs in Kern County. Just a week before becoming ill she handed out canned goods to needy families at her church. Mary enjoyed talking about her love of family and how proud she was of each of their accomplishments. Mary is survived by her only son and daughter-in-law, Arthur Ray and Pamela Kay Carlock of Bakersfield; granddaughters, Tamra Braase, RI, Brandi Green, UT, Debra Hendry, TX; and 4 wonderful great grandchildren. We are blessed to have have had a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother as our role model in our lives. We love you Mary. You will be loved and missed by all. Till we all meet, may God bless and comfort you. Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 17, from 4-8 p.m., at Hillcrest Mortuary. A Chapel service will be held Friday, Feb. 18, 11:00 a.m., at Fairview Baptist Church, 2500 Fairview Road. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
