Rita Carol Sheela October 23, 1950 - December 5, 2011 Rita Carol Sheela, 61 of Bakersfield, Ca went to be with the Lord December 5, 2011, after a short battle with cancer. She was born on October 23, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Harry and June Van Dyke. She lived in Tulare, Ca until 1973, then moved to Bakersfield and married Michael Sheela. She was employed at Edison School District for 28 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her kindness and generosity touched many, with a smile we will never forget. She enjoyed trips to Pismo Beach and Las Vegas with family and friends. She had a passion for cooking, shopping, and wearing her bling bling. She is survived by her husband, Michael Sheela; daughter, Amy Sheela and Kirk Morris; and grandson, Dylan Morris; sisters, Patricia Vargo, Vicky McCune; brothers, Gary Van Dyke, Brian Van Dyke; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be at 10:30 am Wednesday December 14th at Hillcrest Memorial Park Chapel, Bakersfield, CA. Hillcrest Memorial Park & Mortuary
