Robert is survived by his wife Becky Singenstrew, daughter, Kristy Wood, and son Brian Singenstrew. He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren Chad, Tyler, Jayden, Alexa, Kaelynn, and Austin. Robert was born in Marietta, Ohio in 1957 to William and Flora Singenstrew.
He met the love of his life, Becky in junior high school and wed in 1983. That same year Robert began working in oil production at Chevron. In 1984, Robert welcomed his daughter, Kristy, into the world, followed by his son, Brian, in 1988. In 1991, Robert accepted a promotion with Chevron and the Singenstrew family put down roots buying a family home in Bakersfield. Robert retired from Chevron after 33 years of loyal service. He loved to travel the world with his wife. His children remember him as a selfless, kind-hearted father who encouraged them to pursue their dreams. He was a dedicated individual who loved his family and who was passionate about listening to music, traveling the world, telling jokes, eating food, and spending time with the ones he loved. He touched so many lives and will greatly be missed.
A funeral service for Robert will be held Monday, May 9, 2022, viewing from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mortuary, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, CA 93306, followed by a chapel service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Graveside service from 2:00 to 2:45 PM. Reception to follow from 2:45 PM to 5:00 PM. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Robert’s life.
