

Ron was born in Arvin, California February 5, 1928. He moved from Arvin with his father Roy and beloved Granny to Bakersfield and continued on his academic journey through Bakersfield High School and Bakersfield Junior College. His journey was cut short when he served in the Army Corps of Engineers in Germany for two yearsUpon the completion of his service he continued with his education at the University of Southern California and earned a degree in Petroleum Engineering Ron was a successful petroleum engineer and began a petroleum consulting company called Petro-Econ.
Ron loved USC football and had season tickets for 40 years. He also was an avid golfer and was a Charter Member of Rio Bravo Country Club. Ron was a devout Christian and was very active in the Methodist Church in Bakersfield and served on a variety of committees. During this time he was a lay minister and would give sermons to congregations when needed. Ron is survived by his daughter Susan and her husband Mark, granddaughters Ashleigh and Lindsay, Half Sister Jettie and Ex Wife Pat Cooper. He was predeceased by his wife Phyllis.
A celebration of life service will be held Friday, March 6th at 10:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Chapel.
