Sara Sue Chacon

She was born on September 14, 1961 in Dinuba, California. She was raised in Porterville , California where she graduated from Porterville High School. Shortly after her graduation she moved to Bakersfield where she started a family and raised her children.

Suzie was a homemaker for many years. She was an amazing cook, loved doing car pools, participated in school activities and attended many sports events. She worked at Edison Middle School for 15 years , mainly as a Library Clerk, where she met many great friends and students she adored. She was like a second mom to many kids in her neighborhood, “Mama Suzie” would do anything to help others and make them feel welcome. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren. She loved having family get togethers , barbecues , laughing and sharing old stories.

She was preceded in death by her parents Dave and Sue Frederick ; brother John Frederick of Porterville. She is survived by her brother, David Frederick (Cindy), son ; Daniel Chacon (Inez), daughters ; Nicole Luna (Clemente) and Erica Fierros (Jesse), five grandchildren; Elisa, Nicle, Gracie Sue, Annabelle and Daniel, dog; Sugi, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Suzie was loved by all who knew her. The world won’t be the same without her. She will be greatly missed. She is at peace…. Pain free. Fly free with the hummers. We love you! Until we meet again.

A memorial service for Sara will be held Monday, January 23, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mortuary, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, CA 93306, followed by a graveside service from 11:30 AM to 12:15 PM.
