Shelley Maureen O'Brien, daughter of Kathleen and Michael O'Brien, entered into life on March 18, 1965 and passed away on April 25, 2025 in Bakersfield, CA. Shelley left an incredible impact and many cherished memories on all those around her. She will be truly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Shelley attended Bakersfield College where she received her AA degree, then to Cal State Bakersfield where she received her BA and Masters degree, then she went on to California School of Professional Psychology where she received her PHD in 2003. Some time after she found her dream job at Wasco State Prison as a clinical psychologist.
Shelley loved life, her family, and her dear friend Teresa. She really enjoyed scuba diving and many other outdoor sports. Shelley had a huge heart, loved her cats, and if there was a stray in distress she would rescue and feed it. She was a very giving and loving person. We love her and miss her so much.
Her family finds comfort in knowing there will be a future resurrection (John 5:28,29) “We will see her again without tears, pain, and death will be no more” (Rev 21:4).
Per Shelley’s wishes, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, she requests a donation to any animal shelter.
