Dear Mom,
There aren't words to say how much we miss you here, but we are so glad that you are rejoicing in heaven with a pain-free body. I can't wait to see you again.

Susan was special and lovely person.  I worked with her for several years at the Californian and grew to lover her very much.  She was always smiling and bringing light to others days including mine.  She was such a warrior.  I remember coaching her in a team building exercise, climbing a 30 foot telephone pole.  She did not want to do it but she was to determined to.  When she came down off the pole she had a smile so wide, I broke into tears.  We will miss you Susan.

I knew Susan almost all her life. We grew up on the same block in Bakersfield and went to Elementary School together. She was one of my best friends and we kept in touch through the years with emails, birthday and Christmas cards. My mother and I came over from Atascadero for her Mothers Memorial Service. I hadn't heard from her in awhile and decided this evening to try and find out why. I was truly shocked and saddened to find out that she has passed away. My deepest heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family. Susan and her family are in my thoughts and prayers. It is a terrible tragic loss. She will be dearly missed.

Susan was a beautiful spirit and a great friend to my mother. The world is a little darker because she is not in it. I'm glad she is at peace. Please know your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

I worked with Susan at The Californian from 1997-2004. She was so sweet and kind! I especially remember when I was pregnant with my first child, she & I would talk about babies because she was also going to be a grandma around the same time! She always looked so good and I enjoyed working with her. When she was feeling down, she still always stayed so positive! Susan, you will be missed, but never forgotten.

Having worked many years with Susan at The Californian, I can say that she was a gracious, loving and caring woman.  I was so sad to hear the news of her passing.  May she rest in peace.

Dear Family,

Our condolences to your entire family.  May God continue to comfort you during the loss of your Mom.  She was a sweetheart and always wore a big smile.  Good memories come to mind when I think of her.

The Housing Authority is a long-standing client of the newspaper, and a long-time business associate of Susan Baldwin.  We always looked forward to hearing her sweet voice over the phone, and although we never met, we will miss her as well.  Susan always maintained her professionalism and created a strong bond with customers.  Rest well, Susan.

We are so sad and we are ao sorry for all of you, Jerod, Emily and Megan and your families.

I will always remember Susan's soft voice and her ready smile.  She was a great friend and neighbor and will truly be missed.  I am so happy for her, though, as she is now with God, whom she loved, and she can see my husband, David.  They are now both the same age (their birthdays were in the same month and they used to send each other funny birthday cards because David was older by a few days). Until we meet again, Susan, we love you.

Susan you will be greatly missed by so many. All who knew you will be grieving our loss, but will be glad for you knowing you are in the presence of the Lord now. RIP my friend.

My parents and family LOVED being your next door neighbor on Alum Ave.  We had the greatest group of people on that street.  I loved that my dad was such a big part of your daughters' lives, from teaching Megan to drive, or leaving chocolate Easter Bunnies at your door for Easter :) You were such a strong courageous woman who fought such a good fight.  I am so happy that you finally get to meet our maker, because you spent every waking moment following in his footsteps and encouraging others to do the same.  You and my dad forever get to tease each other and be neighbors once again.  We love you, and your family!

My heartfelt condolences to you and your sisters Jerod.  I remember your mother as a true beacon of light and a soft spoken gentle and kind woman.  Her battle was long and one I am sure she fought with true courage. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Susan will always be remembered for her laughing eyes and smile that lit up the room.  I was so blessed to have reconnected with my high school friend, and those dinners with the Dining Divas will forever stay in my memories.  We miss you Susan, and can't wait to be welcomed into heaven by you and Our Lord.

I first met Susan over 20 years ago, when she came to work at the newspaper. We started out as co-workers, became acquaintances, and grew to be great friends. Anyone who knew Susan knows that she was a most generous, loving, special woman. Her beauty and grace were never compromised, even when battling with her illness, she looked gorgeous. She had a most infectious laugh, and it was one of the highlights of my day to get her laughing so hard her makeup had to be re-applied! There are few people so fortunate to have a friend as special as Susan. Her unwavering loyalty and loving spirit were very rare qualities. She derived such joy from her children and grandchildren, and could always be counted on to share baby pictures or soccer stories! I'm sure she is having a wonderful time reuniting with her Mom and Dad, pain free, and Heaven is blessed to have this particular angel with them now. She will be missed here on Earth, but I know she will be watching over us all. Rest in peace, my dear friend..we will meet again. Love you, Cathy

I wanted to offer my condolences and a comforting thought. John 3:16- For God loved the world so much that he gave his only begotten Son, in order that everyone exercising faith might not be destroyed but have everlasting life.

We met in jr. high and went onto South High School in sisterhood.  Susan and her mom were a big part of my acceptance of Jesus Christ as my savior when I was a teenager. My parents adored her, too.   
Susan and I traveled many different paths over the last decades, but she continued to be a very special part of my memories and it was always a treat to catch up with her.  
Susan's children were couragous and dedicated to her through her battle with cancer.  She was so very proud of them.
I am so glad Susan touched my life.  Thank you dear friend, because of you, I also will be living in Heaven some day.  I can't wait to see your smile again.

Susan I am so heartbroken by your passing. The only comfort is knowing you are with our Savior Jesus Christ. Your contagious smile & and sweet smile will always be remembered.
