From an early age, he and his family preferred to call him “Wayne.” The Wallace family, including Wayne’s older sisters Gale and Ruby, moved all around the United States throughout his childhood searching for better opportunities. Wayne insisted that the family stay put when he started high school, and his family finally listened. They’ve been in Bakersfield ever since.
Wayne joined the military straight out of high school and was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1977. Wayne loved repoing cars with his family as a teenager, but he only ever wanted to be a police officer. He served in the Arvin Police Department until injuries forced him to retire. He did odd jobs for several years before finally discovering private investigation. Wayne worked as a P.I. off and on for 30 years until his death.
Wayne married his sweetheart Tammi straight out of high school, but the sweethearts did not last. He later met Pam Sharp and married in 1981. With Pam, he had his eldest daughter Chasity Sharp.
Wayne met his third and forever wife Julia “Lynne” Deaton in 1986. 7 short months later, the two married on January 17, 1987. Together, they had two more daughters - Morgan and Dakota Wallace. They were married 35 years before Lynne lost her battle with cancer in 2022. It broke Wayne’s heart and his body.
Wayne was known to be blunt, too honest, and even reckless. He was a loud and fun personality who would do absolutely anything for his family and friends. He enjoyed football, hunting, politics, and going to the dog park with his best friend Toby.
Wayne quietly passed on Saturday, November 4th, 2023 in his bed here in Bakersfield, CA. He is survived by his three daughters Chasity, Morgan, and Dakota and his beloved dog Toby.
Services for Wayne will be held November 30 at 12:30pm at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
