Wanda June Edwards

Bakersfield June passed peacefully at home on March 23, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Portor, Oklahoma she was raised on her family's farm. She was a proud Cherokee Indian. In 1963 she moved to Bakersfield, California to raise her 3 children.

She enjoyed wagontrains across Death Valley with the love of her life Earby Edwards as part of corral 14. She loved to dance, horseback riding, fishing, gardening, auto racing and cooking. She was an AMAZING cook. Her breakfasts and Thanksgiving dinners were legendary!

Her legacy lives on through her children Charlie, Darrell and Michelle, her 24 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, extended family in Oklahoma as well as countless friends.

June will be dearly missed and lovingly treasured in the hearts of all who knew her.

A visitation for Wanda will be held Friday, April 14, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mortuary, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, CA 93306. A funeral service will occur Saturday, April 15, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, CA 93306. A graveside service will occur Saturday, April 15, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, 9101 Kern Canyon Road, Bakersfield, CA 93306.
