William Charles Tingley, affectionately known as Bill, left this world on October 8, 2025, peacefully at home. Born in Watsonville, California, and raised in Salinas, California. He served his country proudly as a veteran of the Vietnam War, honorably serving in the US Navy.
Bill's life was a testament to love and family. He was married for 56 years to Marilyn Tingley, and together they raised three children. His family will deeply miss his mischievous sense of humor, as well as his love for simple pleasures shared with those closest to him. His bond with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him immense joy.
Those who loved Bill are left to carry on his legacy, and though he may be gone, his love for them will forever endure. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Tingley; children: Charlie and John Tingley, and Kellie Tucker (Chuck); grandchildren: Elias, Zakeriah (Cheyanne), and Kayte Bazan, Caden Tingley; and great-grandchildren: Emmerson, Amara, and Asher Bazan. Additionally, he is remembered by his siblings: Frank Tingley, Phyllis Davis (Mitch), and Suzanne Pecoraro (Francis); as well as numerous nieces and nephews, bonus mom Louise Tingley, and other loving relatives.
Sincere gratitude to sister-in-law Joanne Lewis and brother-in-law Tom Rotharmel for their unwavering love and support. Heartfelt thanks to the team at Bakersfield Community Hospice for their exceptional care and compassion provided in his final days.
We take comfort in the knowledge that Bill's love will forever be a part of our lives, making us, in turn, better people for having known him. Services will be held at Bakersfield National Cemetery, at the graveside on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 10 am.
