

Filomena (Grossi) Biron, age 86, of Barstow, CA, passed away at the Barstow Community Hospital on November 15, 2017. She had resided at the Rimrock Villa Convalescent Hospital for several years. She was born on April 24, 1931 in the Village of Mamaroneck, NY. She is survived by her children: Mary Ann Ray (Donald) of Hendersonville, NC; Ray Kirby (Marilyn) of Edmund, OK; Stan Kirby of Barstow, CA; and her grandchildren: Marie Koletsis-Masse (Jason), Michelle Wheeler, Amy Jewell, Laura Kirby McDonnold, Lonny Kirby, Shaun Kirby (Tana) and Shane Kirby (Tricha). Filomena has nine (9) great grandchildren. She also is survived by her sister, Teresa Filancia of Springfield , MO with her children Joy Murphy and Joe Filancia. Filomena was an ordained evangelist by the World Christianship Ministries and is well-known for her compassion for the Lord’s word and ministry to others. She was also the church pianist for many years throughout her life’s journey. Career was in the medical field as an Operating Room nurse and private home practice. Filomena was a devoted Mother, loving sister, great auntie, loyal friend, and an energetic Evangelist spreading God’s word. A mentor to many friends and family. Her life was a testimony of God’s love and grace. Her motto: Remember always to stay close to Jesus. Her most important goal was to see that all her children served the lord. A gravesite service will be held at the Mountain View Cemetery on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. with a gathering afterwards following a short gravesite service.
