Jerry Purdy

Jerry Purdy, age 53, passed away peacefully in his sleep at Barstow Community Hospital on Sunday June 26, 2016 from complications of pneumonia. Jerry was born in Barstow on October 2, 1962. Over the years Jerry worked for his dad at Barstow Tire & Brake and Purdy Clean Car Wash. Jerry is survived by his dad Leonard Purdy and step mom Paulette, mom Sheryl Bernasconi, sister Liz Purdy, brothers Scott and Garry Purdy, step sisters Stephanie Turrini and Danielle Carter (husband Chris), step brothers Wade Douglas, Todd and Darren Bernasconi (wife Connie), children Diane Hill-Cochran (husband T.W.), Clarissa, Jerry Jr, Jordan, Devin Purdy and Anna Derksen. He also has nine grandchildren, numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many friends. Jerry was pre deceased by his paternal grandparents Henry and Billie Purdy and maternal grandparents Jake and Florence Holland and his uncle John T. Holland.

A viewing will be held at Mead Mortuary, 36930 Irwin Rd., on Friday July 8, 2016 from 2:00pm until 6:00pm. A memorial service will be held on Saturday July 9, 2016 at 11:00am at the First Baptist Church, 1320 Barstow Rd. The eulogy will be by Pastor Bill Long of Newberry Springs Assembly of God Church. A reception will be held at the church hall immediately following the service. We appreciate all of the love, prayers and support from everyone. Thank you.
