Lena Curley Draper went to be with our Lord on September 28th 2019, in Barstow, California. Lena was born on the Navajo Reservation in Chinle, Arizona on July 19th, 1929. She lived there until she met her husband, Navajo Code Talker, Nelson Draper Sr. They left the Navajo Reservation and moved to Barstow California where they started their family. They had eight children, Rose Draper, Nelson Draper Jr., Jennifer Lord, Peggy Santos, Christina Burke, Orlinda Sanchez, Cherlyn Varela and Karen Santos. She had over 75 grandchildren, countless great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She is now reunited with her husband Nelson Sr., her son Nelson Jr., grand-son Richard Santos, and great-grandson David Herrera. Her celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 7th Services at High Desert Word Center, 30918 Soapmine Road 92311, on Monday October 7th; viewing at 9:30am, and service at 11:00am.
