Arturo is survived by his wife, Dahlia Varela; his daughter Leticia Escamilla (Jesus); and his son Arturo Varela (Andrea); his granddaughter Andrea Escamilla, his granddaughter Sophia Escamilla, his granddaughter Tori Varela and his granddaughter Maiya Varela.
Arturo was preceded in death by his father Severo Varela; his mother Lucrecia Varela and his father Humberto Murrieta.
Arturo was a waiter for many, many years in Palm Springs, California. He was "The waiter to the stars at Palm Springs". He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. He loved his daily 10 mile walks with his dog, Rubio and he enjoyed the horse races, tennis, reading and history. Arturo was also affiliated with Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Palm Springs and St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church in Beaumont.
A Rosary for Arturo will be held Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at 9:30AM followed by a Memorial Service at 10:00AM at St Kateri Catholic Church, 1234 Palm Ave, Beaumont, California 92223.
Arturo will be laid to rest in Forest Lawn, Cathedral City, CA.
Memorial Contributions can be sent to Arturo's favorite charity, St. Jude's Hospital.
