It has taken me 2 months to be able to read all your wonderful tributes to my big brother. It is nice to know how he touched each of your lives. There is not a single day that goes by that I don't think of Billy (as we called him) and miss him terribly. Growing up Bill was my protector, my hero. I remember him teaching me to fish and hunt. There was one time when he dressed me up in camo and gave me a toy uzi. I had more GI Joes than any girl should ever have, but if it meant spending time with Billy than I was of with it. To other brothers that bratty little girl 9 years younger would have bothered the heck out of them... not Bill. I miss you and love you more than words can say!

I attended the police academy with Bill.  He was one of those that rarely got yelled at because he was so put together.  I was saddened to read about him passing away at such a young age.   I was out of state and didn't read about him until after the service or I would have attended.  My condolences to his family.  Linda

Bill, I always enjoyed working the same shift with you and I will always remember how you comforted me when my husband was involved in an accident at 8th and Lincoln in 2003. You were and excellent officer and supervisor.

I am so sorry to hear of Bill's passing. He was such a good guy, always with a smile and a greeting. Rest in peace brother.

Bill was a great guy and very fun loving. In the short time I worked with him, he was always kind and provided much needed comic relief.  He spoke so often of his lovely wife and daughters.  I think we all have special memories and one of mine revolves around a tiny glass globe.  I had one on my desk and one day he saw it.  He picked it up and kept spinning it,said he liked globes, and really liked that one. I thought the next time I was in Chinatown, where I had purchased that globe, I would get one for him and I did.  He was so appreciative of a simple little globe.  I still have my globe and when I see it I think of him.  I don't know if he still had his but if someone does come across it, see it not as an inexpensive glass globe but instead as a symbol of how much all of us that knew him loved and appreciated having him in our lives.  He really was a great guy and will be missed.

Bill always made me laugh.  He was kind to all of us who were volunteers.  I remember one time when he really made me laugh.  I said the word soda, and he said and imitated the way I sounded as if I was from Fargo.  It was really funny and a great memory.
