March 21, 1960 – September 15, 2023
Dorothy (Dodie) Frances Carlson was born on March 21, 1960, in Redlands, California to Bill Thompson and Linda Hoover. She spent her childhood in Banning, California with her mother and stepfather and visited her father and stepmother in Chehalis, Washington in the summers. She attended school in the Banning School District and graduated in Banning, CA. Dodie spent her childhood outdoors, exploring with her local Girl Scout troops, boating with family, and spending time at her parent’s local Roller-Skating rink with Pinky, the Donkey.
Dodie was the mother of three children: Kevin, Kenny, and Kristine. She was also a loving grandmother to Kenzy, Emma, Olivia, Wyatt, and Colt. Dodie loved her family and was always there supporting her kids at their sporting events, awards, and other events. She loved her grandchildren as well. She spent her time babysitting, attending sporting events, awards, going on adventures, and having ice cream dates after school pickups.
Through her generosity and kind spirit she touched the lives of many people and organizations. She dedicated her life to her family and the extended families of Beaumont Youth Baseball and Softball. Anyone who knew Dodie knew that she was a true friend and always ready to help. She has given back to this community in the hopes that her efforts would make a better place for the youth. She was truly a one-of-a-kind soul who will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and the community.
Dodie was preceded in death by her father Bill Thompson. She is survived by her children Kevin Carlson (Hilary), Kenny Carlson (Nicole), and Kristine Carlson. She is also survived by her mother Linda Hoover, sisters Jodi Thompson, Ann Clasey, brother Chuck Hoover and grandchildren Kenzy, Emma, Olivia, Wyatt, and Colt Carlson. A Celebration of Life will take place on October 1st, 2023, at 2:30pm at Noble Creek Park in Beaumont, California on Field #1.
