

Jack Paul Simonson, 83 of Beaumont Died Feb 15, 2014. He was born Dec 6, 1930 in Nebraska City, Nebraska the son of Leo Paul and Marguerite (Bro) Martin. Jack graduated from Broken Bow High School Nebraska, 1949, and from the University of Nebraska Army ROTC program. He served as a Lieutenant during Korean war. Father Leo was killed while serving as a physician and U S Army Captain during WWII. Marguerite married Ray Simonson, a decorated Army officer who fought on Normandy. Ray and Marguerite moved to California and invited Jack and family to join them. Jack worked for the City of Rialto for 29 years serving as the first Parks and Rec Director. Upon retiring from Rialto Jack and second wife Lynette found scenic mountain land across from Vista Grande Ranger station along Hwy 243. They themselves built a dream home on 9 acres including Jack's dream 20 X 40 workshop with every kind of tool. Moving off the hill after 25 years to Four Seasons Beaumont. Jack retired US Army Lt Col and a top marksman. He is proud of the trophy deer antlers taken with 1 shot. Jack and Lynette shared 30 years of hiking, tandem bicycling, many trips to New Mexico visiting many pueblo friends. Jack's sons Jay (Jane), Kurt(Linda) and Blake(Susan) brought him much pride and joy and grandchildren, Jacklyn, Casey, Brady and Martin. Papa Jack is much loved by Lynette's daughter Traci, husband David Phillips and grandchildren Vincent and Savannah, Katherine and Liam Worsham. Jack is remembered as a man's man, with a twinkle in his eye, a real straight shooter, totally trustworthy. His life brought much joy to all who knew him.
