

Joseph Bernauer Jr. died on June 12, 2019, at the age of 80 in his home in Cherry Valley, CA surrounded by his loved ones. Joseph was born in Modosch, Yugoslavia on August 25, 1938, to his parents, Josef and Anna Bernauer. He immigrated to the United States in 1952 with his parents, in hopes of a better life. He was proud to have served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1967. He married Rose Bernauer on August 22, 1964. He lived in La Canada Flintridge prior to moving to Cherry Valley, where he lived for 41 years. Joseph worked in the aerospace industry as a design engineer for 37 years. He was a member of the Saint Stephens Catholic Church and the German American Club. His greatest joy in life was being a father and grandfather.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Rose Bernauer, daughters, Domenica Bernauer and Ann Bernauer-Evans, grandchildren, Marcus Evans, Alexandra Evans, Colin Evans, and Hunter Cabrera. He is also survived by his sons-in-law, Dan Evans and Mario Cabrera, brother-in-law, Pasquale Baldi, sisters-in-law, Maria Baldi and Lynn Baldi, cousin, Rosemarie Martins, along with many nieces and nephews.
Joseph was preceded in death by his father, Josef Bernauer, mother, Anna Bernauer, mother-in-law, Domenica Baldi, sister-in-law, Donna Baldi, brothers-in-law, Michael Baldi, and Emanuel Baldi.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Weaver Mortuary, 1177 Beaumont Ave. Beaumont, CA, 92223. On Friday, June 28, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. a mass will be held at Saint Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church, 1234 Palm Ave. Beaumont, CA, 92223. Interment will immediately follow at Mountain View Cemetery, 1315 Edgar Ave. Beaumont, CA, 92223. Following the interment, a celebration of life will be held for Joseph.
