August 22, 1930 – February 3, 2021.
Keith Forbush (90), a resident of Calimesa, CA, passed peacefully 2/3/21 at Redlands Community Hospital.
Keith was born on August 22, 1930 in Midvale Utah, and grew up in the Union, Utah area where he attended Jordan High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. In 1953 he married LaVerne Nelson, and together they raised four children, Leslie Ann, Glenn Merrill, Shauna, and Adell. Keith is now reunited with LaVerne, who passed seven year prior to Keith.
Keith is survived by his four children and their spouses, along with 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren (and three more great-grandchildren on the way).
Keith’s life was filled with love for his sweetheart, his family, and his church. He also had a great love for the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and he shared his passion for both with anyone who would listen. He taught multiple generations of his own family the art of fishing, along with many youth of the church who attended camping and fishing outings.
Keith also had a green thumb (he grew up on a farm), and especially enjoyed gardening once he discovered hydroponics. He built two home hydroponic gardening systems (the second at age 89). For the past 20 years, Keith has also been an avid bowler. He bowled in two leagues every week, joined by his wife and later two of his children (upon their retirement). The members of the bowling league (and many other friends and neighbors) were recipients of the fruits of another of Keith’s passions, the making of Christmas candy. Keith was known to spend hours in the kitchen and made, quite literally, thousands of pounds of fudge, toffee, peanut brittle, and other candies. Thankfully, the next two generations have learned how to make the candy, so that tradition will carry on, as will our memories of him and our love for him.
Services for Keith will be held on March 8, 2021.
