Shawn & I first connected around 2002 and kept in touch since. Never a dull moment with him because, yo, how could any moment with Shawn be dull, right?! To me he was (and always will be!) the bonafide Indian reincarnation of Tupac! He made me laugh & smile more times than I can count. He told (and lived!) the wildest stories! His creativity, intellect, gift of gab, charisma - just a few of the traits that made him such a joy to be around. He connected great people. Always came through & made me feel special. The way he talked told me he wanted to make the world a better place! He was kind, thoughtful. He sharpened his mind & spoke it too (a treat!) & lived with his heart on his sleeve. He lit up the room with his vibe & feel-good self! He aimed to please & make you feel at ease. Epic freestyle sessions, followed by hangouts at the crib kicking back drinks & talking life. My man flowed like none other & always hyped me up too! Getting together, writing laugh-out-loud skits, that script for our Indian-Paki buddy roadtrip comedy! So many laughs! Chasing girls, creating art, shooting for the stars. I could go on & on. We had big dreams but more so we had fun just being around each other. Sometimes he was a handful, had a few vices, and sometimes we got into it, but deep down my friend had the heart & soul of an artist, a poet & a "thug", a rebel spirit determined to live life on his own terms. I wish he was still here with us in the physical, but I'm comforted knowing he's not hurting, that his spirit (because it touched so many of us!) lives on. We had so much still left to do brother, you're gone way too soon, but for all your love, light & friendship? THANK YOU. Was a true honor & pleasure to know you & I'm grateful for all the time we DID get to spend together. It was a real joy I'll always cherish. You'll be sorely missed. Shawn was absolutely the life of any room he entered. We became good friends through speech and debate and he made every day of school better than the last. Unfortunately I haven’t seen Shawn in many years, but I still remember him every time I think of home. Shawn was a fun loving guy, a great competitor, and the loyalest friend you ever had. Shawn, you will be sincerely missed. 

I remember Shawn mostly when he was younger but although timid during his elementary school years, he was diligent with his practice and always got along well with the others. It is too sad that he took his leave of this world so quickly but my heart goes out to his friends and family and I wish his soul a peaceful journey.  Hap Do and much Aloha to you, Shawn 🙏

Shawn and I lived in the same building in San Diego. I saw him outside one day on my way up and we clicked right away. 

We would talk and hung out almost daily for a few months. 

Shawn was always open minded and friendly with lots of positive energy.

I can’t believe you are gone so soon.

I still cant come to grips with the fact that you have left us all for a better place. You will always be my big brother, my bhaiya. I will remember always looking up to you and how cool you were to me as a kid. We will all miss your enthusiastic storytelling and passion for those you love so much. First I would like to say my condolences to the family.  From the first time I had the honor of meeting Shawn at Valley College, he has always been here as a friend and as a mentor. You will always be missed and i will always cherish the memories we had.



Shawn was one of my very first friends I met when I moved to downtown. We became great friends and would meet up often. Shawn was always welcoming to everyone I knew, he had charisma, and everyone that met Shawn saw something special. He could hold a conversation with anyone, anywhere, and usually did. We talked about everything, business, law school, family and more. He always talked very highly of his family. My fondest memories of Shawn were when we were just hanging out and freestyling together, listening to music, and talking about life. I'll miss my great friend, his spirit, and his charisma.

I remember being in kindergarten with this dude all the way up to 5th grade and middle school, I remember when he invited me over to your house near Ford Park, that was the first time going over a friends house, he was funny, loud and unique. I am going to miss him a lot. My condolences.
