

Granny Seals couldn’t be here to talk to with you today. As you know Granny wasn’t going to miss a day of work not even for her own memorial service. Vernell Seals was born on October 29, 1934 to Arthur & Silvia Darrough in Wabbaseka, Arkansas. Vernell never had any biological children of her own, but she was blessed to raise so many. Vernell had a smile and personality that would light up a room and a heart filled with love. Granny dedicated her life to help bring up her nieces and nephews, Godchildren and everyone else, embracing all walks of life. Vernell accepted Christ in her life at a very young age.
Granny Seals left Wabbaseka and moved to Los Angeles where she made a career as a nurse and a beautician. In 1970 Granny moved from LA to Banning where she meet and married her late husband, William Harold Seals. Not only did Mrs. Seals do hair, because we all know we could go to her for the best wash and press you will ever have. She was a foster parent, a successful group home owner, and a community activist.
Granny was a dedicated member of Fountain of Life Temple Church of God in Christ under the direction of Superintendent Carlton Anderson. She was a Missionary, a Sunday School teacher, a Deaconess, a Mother in the church, a teacher and a songstress.
Granny was doing hair, serving her Lord and Savior and feeding the community, she was a proud parent. Granny raised Penny Darrough, Denise Pufahll, Adrian Darrough, LaToya Arceneaux, Anthony Richardson, Jeanna Richardson, Penny Monique Darrough, Elijah Williams and MaKayla Williams, along with so many others. Vernell Seals is survived by her two siblings Lorean and husband Robert Burton of Jackson, Michigan and Calvin and wife Melody Darrough of Wabbaseka, Arkansas
