Gudoy is a very dear cousin of mine. Before he went to the U.S., we always hangout with all our other cousins, whether it be in the South of Manila or up North in Balingasa or Silangan with our other cousins and other relatives. We would share stories, gossips and most especially drink til our hearts and liver can take. Growing up, Gudoy has always been in Manjuyod. He only went on vacation here in Manila once of twice our childhood. Most of the time, we are the ones who’d visit Manjuyod and have summer vacations there with them. In the 80s it was very simple, we would regularly hangout at the park, go to the beach and swim, go to a nearby barrio’s fiesta gatherings. But in the late 90’s, things evolved to better times. Hanging out at the park became, playing basketball with side bets for every game; going to Sabungan and still placing bets; going to the Manjuyod Sand Bar and eating all the litchon that we can stuff ourselves with. But most of all my fondest memory of him is his well-rounded character. Despite his very challenging childhood, he always had this great fighting spirit to his pursuit for happiness. We shared each other’s stories of struggles and trials with school and lovelife, which we tried to continue even after he left for the US. I remembered his struggles with speaking in English, so every time we had the chance he’d asked me to help him practice so that by the time he would go to the States, he’d be fluent (I’m not really sure if it helped). He is a friend to all that he has encountered. A true Diamond in the Rough. We are truly sadden by his passing. But with this, we find solace in the fact that he is now resting in the Kingdom of our Lord God. With Tita Glo & Uncle Jun, along with our dearly departed relatives Lolo Gonyong, Lola Colette, Tita Estrel, Tito Gonyet, Tita Ann, Mama Nena, Manoy Baludoy and our cousin Manong Gary. I have this picture in my head that they are in heaven smiling down upon us while playing mahjong. Rest in Peace ‘Doy.

My condolences to the bereaved family of Viernie Gundelino B. Martinez.

Twenty nine years ago if I'm gonna look back and remember the friendship  we had.  Godoy & I were classmates from Elementary to High School.  We were both C.A.T officers then,  When we were in High School didto na kami  sobrang close aside  from being cousins, neighbor were both handsome pa gyud ingon sila, mao magksinabot jud mi duha.  He called  me "Iko" and i call him "Yong".  One of the thing Yong taught me was on how to be confident.  Kay maulawon man gyud ko before.  Most of the time like Fiestas either neighboring towns, cities or brgys. present gyud kami.  Food trip tapos baylihan, pa porma dayun sa mga chiks.  I remembered na miesta kami one of the highland barangay in Manjuyod.  That time the visitors are  being separated, politicians or ilado nga tawo adto mo sa sulod sa kwarto with a lot of food and treated like VIP's.  And because of the confidence of Yong  and madiskarte, we were also in that room with the politicians.  And there were also instances that i can not forget about him, that time I'm going back to Cebu and drop by to Dgte. .  Yong introduced me his ex wife's bestfriend and we went all together to the theater and seated far apart para daw maka chance ako  even though wala koy plano na mo court sa girl.  But, because godoy shouted na unsa man nang akong ig-agaw diha ga binayot na pod na!.  Na hagit na lang ko but i did not take it negatively because godoy knows that I'm torpe before.  
We had a lot of good memories together.

Now, that I lost my bestfriend i could say that our Friendship is a connection that does not weaken in Death but instead grows stronger for those who remember.

Rest in Peace my Friend....

“You are the life of the party” That is how I describe Gudoy. He has a very good heart and a very sincere friend and classmate. Even if you’re sad or down he always makes you feel his presence even without saying a word.  He was a brother to everybody. Gudoy is our light in heaven... a true “Lumen Christi”. 
You will be missed... 

i can still remember how took care of me sent me to school and pick me up cook food for me, way back in balingasa you'll always be in our heart. rest in peace "manong gudoy"
