William La Monte Wall, age 52, passed away peacefully at home from leukemia on February 16, 2022. He was born on April 15, 1969, in Gary, Indiana to William Wall Jr. and Georgia (Abram) Pierce. His younger brother, Antwoin, came along five years later. They had an unbreakable bond as the only two children from their parents’ union who raised them to put God first, to respect their elders, and to treat people the way they wanted to be treated.
William accepted Christ at a very young age. If he knew anything, he knew God. It’s no wonder why his recall of the Bible was so astounding.
William graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1987. Shortly after, he enlisted in the United States Navy where he proudly served his country, including the Gulf War. William took college courses while enlisted through the University of Maryland. He enjoyed his military life and died as a proud veteran.
Following the military, William was blessed with four children. He loved them dearly, cherished the bond they shared, and only wanted the best for them.
In 2010, William met the love of his life, Susie Wall, and they began a beautiful relationship. Family was their priority and William gained two daughters who he had a special bond with. All his children now have a guardian angel to watch over them.
Will and Susie loved to travel and were never home for more than a few months before their next big trip was planned. After eight years of growing, and blending their families, the two became one on July 7, 2018. When William became ill, Susie stayed by his side and cared for him daily until his final hour. She was his rock.
In 2013, William decided to go back to college. But he did not just go back casually, he was on a mission. He graduated with high honors and obtained five Associate degrees from San Bernadino Valley College. He was accepted to California State University, San Bernadino, where he graduated at the top of his class with three Bachelor degrees.
William strived to protect his loved ones at all costs. He never wanted his family to worry about him, so he remained optimistic about his health, which in turn, kept their spirits lifted even during the darkest hours. He will be sorely missed for the great man that he was.
William was preceded in death by his father, William Wall Jr. He is survived by his loving wife, Susie Wall; his six children: Suzette E. Wall, Kristina (Aaron) Hinkle, Adrian (Ashley) Velasco, Kayle Morris, Samantha Gaytan, and Elijah Wall; his mother, Georgia Abram Pierce; his brother, Antwoin D. Wall; his sister-in-law, Kari Trotter Wall; 7 grandchildren; a niece and a nephew; as well as many family members and friends who loved him dearly.
