Anna Jo Taylor

Anna Jo Gillespie Taylor, 77, of Crab Orchard, went to be with the Lord on October 29, 2016 at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley following a long illness. Anna was born in Woodpeck, WV to the late Ed and Grace Gillespie on March 17, 1939. She was a mother, housewife and a very good cook. She liked dogs and loved crafting. In 1974 she was named outstanding young woman of the year. In addition to both parents she is preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and David Gillespie; son-in-law, David Kimmons . Those left to carry on her memory are her six children; sons, Carl Delane Wood and wife Susan of Crab Orchard, WV, Alfred Dean Wood and wife Patty of Indiana, Donald Ray Wood and Wife Haixia of Tennessee; Daughters, Karen Denise Kimmons of Farley Hill WV, Annette Marie Billings of Surveyor WV and Dawn Melinda Stone and husband Jimmy of Piney View WV. Three brothers Darrell Gillespie and wife Connie of Grand View WV, Ross Gillespie of Morgantown, WV and Dane Gillespie and wife Alice of Coal City, WV; sister Rita Daniels and husband John of Glade Springs WV; 15 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Friends may gather with the family on Thursday, November 3, 2016 from 12pm – 2pm at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2pm, Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home with pastor Charlie Brown of the Coal City Freewill Baptist Church officiating. Graveside services will be at the Thompson cemetery in Coal City with family and grandsons serving as pallbearers.
