Emma Oleta Brady Kidwell Martin

Emma Oleta Brady Kidwell Martin, age 83, of Beaver, went home to be with her Lord and Savior after a long illness on Friday, February 26, 2021 at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital. Born on July 23, 1937 in Pear, WV, she was the daughter and last immediate family member of the late Joseph A. Brady and Emma Frances Plumley Brady.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Otis William Kidwell; her husband, Leonard Joe Martin; and her six brothers and sisters. Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Danny R. Kidwell and his wife, Donna M. of Daniels, WV; her daughter, Patty Passmore and her husband, Fred of Reidsville, GA; her grandchildren, Billy R. Kidwell and his wife, Nora, John C. Kidwell, Melissa Taylor and Joseph David Kidwell; and her great-grandchildren, Tyler Brett Kidwell, Cassidy Kidwell, Nathan Taylor, Brianna Taylor, Alexander Kidwell and Liam Kidwell.

Mrs. Martin was a devout Christian woman who loved her faith. For many years she attended Shady Spring Pentecostal Holiness Church where she enjoyed singing and had a passion for cooking for Homecomings and church gatherings. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. She was a loving, devoted and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be missed dearly.

A Funeral Service to celebrate her life will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, March 4, 2021 in the Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Home with Reverend Joyce Tedder officiating. A private burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Park.

In accordance with the current CDC guidelines, the family and the staff of Blue Ridge Funeral Home ask that those who attend the services wear proper facial coverings and practice social distancing at all times.
