Everett R Holtzapfel

Mr. Holtzapfel served 4 years in the Navy from 1965 to 1969. He achieved the rank of Petty Officer Third Class as a U.S. Navy SEAL. He was honorably discharged after severe injuries sustained on his third tour in Vietnam. He received the Purple Heart, Good Conduct, Vietnam Service, National Defense Service, and Vietnam Campaign medals.

Everett was an avid fisherman and enjoyed this sport throughout his life. He also enjoyed gardening and continued this as long as he was able. He will be greatly missed by many friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents Leo and Teenie Holtzapfel and a brother Bobby Holtzapfel.

Survivors include his wife Alice, daughter Cryatal Tauler Holzapfel of Virginia Beach, and Grandson; Chhance Tauler, one brother Frankie Holtzapfel, and two nephews, step-daughter Karen (Danny) Farley, two step grandchildren Eric Farley, Amanda (Billie) Parks, three step great grandchildren Kaylen, Ava, and Piper Parks. He also has a special friend Robbie Powell.

Graveside rites will be held at 1 PM on Tuesday, February 14th, 2023 at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with Pastor Vernon Sears officiating.
