Freddy Sidwell

Freddy Sidwell II, age 75, of Oak Hill, West Virginia passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2025. Born in Meadowbrook, Harrison County on October 24, 1949, he was the son of the late Freddy and Betty Baker Sidwell.

Freddy married his childhood sweetheart, who happened to be the 'girl next door' and then went on to start his own contracting business in Harrison County, which he operated for many years.

He loved riding motorcycles, hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with his dog, Buddy. He was a member of Upper Room Church in Adamston where he was the audiovisual technician.

In addition to his parents, Freddy is preceded in death by his daughter Tena Schneider and a grandson Christopher Hamrick.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 55 years, Linda Cottrill Sidwell, his son Freddy Sidwell III and wife Ashley and their children Peyton Taylor and Aiden Sidwell; Granddaughter Samantha Hamrick and her children Aubrielle, Malakai and Maverick; Grandson Bryan Hamrick and wife Kelsey and their children Paisley, Braiden, Bryson and Jaxson; his brother Mark Sidwell and wife Sandy of Meadowbrook, several nieces and nephews and his much loved dog, Buddy.

Services will be held on Friday February 21, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Blue Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Mike Hamrick and Floyd Bolen officiating. Friends may gather with the familiy from 12:00 pm until the time of the service. Freddy will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
