James Franklin Howell, 78, of Coal City passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2015. Born on November 29, 1936, James was the son of the late Ira Cecil and Bessie Sheaves Howell. James enjoyed spending his spare time fishing and working puzzles, and was a member of the Pemberton Missionary Baptist Church, and even served as a Deacon for some time. In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by wife, Bonnie Howell, and four brothers. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 23 years, Lou Howell; son, James R. Howell; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and four step-children. Funeral services for James will be held at Blue Ridge Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at 1pm with Pastor James Ford officiating. Family will receive guests from 11am to 1pm prior to the service on Wednesday. Entombment will take place in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
