John Edward Wynn

John was a proud veteran of the US Army and served for 23 years. He also worked for the local police department and later as a diesel mechanic for Raleigh County Schools for a combined time span of over 30 years. His other vocation was auctioneering and even though he was retired, he remained active as an auctioneer in the local area.

John was of the Christian faith and previously attended Faith Community Church. He also loved camping, hunting, fishing, NASCAR racing and playing cards with friends.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sister Judy Wynn and his brother Eddie Wynn.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Pamela Wynn of Beckley, his bonus son Christopher Herron of Sanford, NC, sister Mary Helems of Beaver, nephew Charles M. "PeeWee" Waugh Jr. of Camp Creek, WV, and sister-in-law Becky Settle and husband Leonard "Dallas" Settle of Mossy. He is also survived by his bonus nieces and nephews Jonathan Toney, his wife Jane and their son Jace of Poquoson, VA, Scott Settle and his wife Jamie of Fayetteville, WV, Josette Smith and son Noah of Beckley, WV, and Jessica Settle and daughter Sarah of Naples, FL.

He will also be greatly missed by his dogs Baxter and Sadie who travelled everywhere with him and Pam.

A celebration of John's life including military honors will be held on May 24, 2025 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 pm. Friends may call from 12:00 until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to either Hospice of Southern WV or the Raleigh County Humane Society.
