
Kent Terrance Saul Sr., 68, of Coal City, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2015, after a long, hard fought battle with disease. Kent was born on October 7, 1946 to the late Robert and Betty Carpenter Saul. Kent was a man that loved and appreciated life; he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved his family and little dog Skippy very much. He loved family get-togethers, sporting events, and playing clue. He was a faithful Mountaineers fan and tried to never miss a game. Kent was a proud member of the UMWA and retired coal miner. He will forever be remembered by all the young men he coached at Trap Hill, and he loved them all. In addition to his parents Kent was preceded in death by his grandson Phillip M. Saul. Those left to cherish his memory include the love of his life, his wife of 50 years, Phyllis Saul; a special sister in law, who has been there through it all, Malinda Lindsey; sons, Kent T. Saul Jr. and wife Bonnie of Morgantown, Robert W. Saul and wife Becky of Coal City, Aaron T. Saul and special friend David Bonnett of Charleston; a special nephew Command Sergeant Major James Wills and wife Lisa of Beckley; granddaughter, Phylecia Saul and fiancé Travis Martin of Fitzpatrick Rd, Kendal Hope Saul of Morgantown; grandsons, Kent T. Saul III and fiancé Samantha Evans of Morgantown, Robert D. Saul of Shady Spring, Alex Joe Saul of Coal City and great grandson, Shane Allen Martin of Fitzpatrick Rd. Services to celebrate the life of Kent will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, June 13, 2015 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Hall officiating. Friends may gather with the family from 12 noon until the time of the service at the funeral home. Following the service, Kent will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Family and friends will be serving as pallbearers.
