Lena Mills

Lena Opal Mills, age 92, of Beckley, West Virginia passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2025. Born June 17, 1932 at Barn, WV, she was the daughter of the late John Leslie Meadows and Ina Mae Foley Meadows.

Lena was the founding owner and operator of La Contessa Beauty Salon in Beckley. She attended Memorial Baptist Church, and was active in the BYKOTA Sunday School class.

In addition to her parents, Lena was preceded in death by her husband Samuel Paul Mills Sr., and siblings Thomas Earl Meadows, Rosa Mae Meadows, and Landon Meadows.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter Paulette Meadows and son Samuel Paul Mills, Jr., both of Beckley, grandchildren Christine Miller of St. Louis, MO. and Marshall Bradley Mills of Conway, SC., great grandchildren Katherine Miller and John Miller of St. Louis, and Kinsley Mills of Conway.

She will also be deeply missed by her siblings, Roy Meadows and Doris Graham both of Egeria, WV., Charles Meadows of Swansea, SC., and Clifton and James Meadows both of Euclid, OH.

Lena also leaves behind her devoted fur baby Sydnee.

Funeral services will be held on Monday June 23, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Blue Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Charles Bright officiating. Friends may gather with the family from 11:00 am until the time of the service.

Lena will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
