Mrs. Lena Rosina Walker

LENA ROSINA WALKER Lena Rosina Walker, 81, of Beckley, passed away Monday, June 23, 2014. Born June 26, 1932 at Ghent; she was a daughter of the late Robert Andrew Bryant and the late Lettie Waddell Garretson. Lena loved cooking and spending time with her family and friends, reading, and doing cross word puzzles. She was a 1990 graduate from Beckley College, and worked as a Respiratory Therapist and worked at an Adult Day Care. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Okey Eldridge Walker; two brothers, Michael E. Bryant and Lewis Bryant; three sisters, Ila Marie Byrant Harrison, Lucy Evelyn Lilly, and Mary Margaret Ferrell. Lena was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Those left to cherish her memory include her loving daughter, Linda Walker Carr of Beckley; grandson, Charles “Eddie” Carr of Beckley; and a nephew Robert Fink of James Town, Indiana. Services to celebrate the life of Lena Rosina Walker will be held 1:00PM Friday, June 27, 2014 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home Chapel. Following the services she will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
