Linda Cole

Linda Elaine Cole, age 78 of Glen Morgan, WV went home to be with the Lord May 13, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born March 2, 1948, in Fayette County, she was the daughter of the late Emerson Lewis and Lora Mae Patrick.

Linda was preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years Leal Gene Cole, her siblings Billy Lewis, John Lewis, and Gloria Smith as well as a son Clark G. Cole.

To know Linda was to know grace in true form, a grace that was gentle, humble, and rooted deeply in her love and unwavering in her compassion. She walked this life with deep faith in God and the principle that true strength is gentle, and greatness lives in serving others. Her legacy is remembered in the lives she touched, lessons she taught through example and her quiet dignity. As it is written, her children rise up and call her blessed. She taught that a humble heart is a strong heart and a life of love and serving God is the greatest legacy of all.

Linda dedicated her life not only to her family but also to her nursing career- first at the old Beckley Hospital and later retiring from Beckley ARH leaving remarkable legacy of love, dedication, compassion, and service to everyone she met.

Those left to cherish her memory include 2 sons, Claude Ray Richards III and wife Dianna of Daniels, Michael Scott Richards and wife Nita of Middleton DE, 2 daughters Lora June McGhee and Kathy Lynn Wood of Burlington NC, 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and extended family, friends, and neighbors.

Funeral services for Linda will be on Tuesday, May 19th, 2026, at 1 PM at Blue Ridge Funeral Home with Pastor Rodney Allen. The family will receive visitors one hour prior. Linda will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens following the service.
