

Lois Alverta Evans, 84, of Mount Hope, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 27, 2017, after a long illness. She was born August 9, 1932 in Rocky Gap, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Millard and Nora Ward.
She was a charter member of Little Valley Baptist Church at South Sand Branch. She was a homemaker and thoroughly enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and loved to travel with her church group to Tennessee.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Lee Evans; sons, Freddie and Jack Evans.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Brenda Pressley and husband Wayne of Beckley, Patricia Nichols and husband Dave of Shady Spring, Sheila Elswick and husband Sam of Mount Hope, Marvin Evans and wife Mary of White Oak and Ronnie Evans and wife Cheryl of Charlottesville, VA; daughter-in-law, Linda Evans of McKenney, VA; grandchildren, Stanley Pressley of Wytheville, VA, Lisa Thompson and husband Mike of Beaver, Kevin Nichols and wife Crystal of Sevierville, TN, Ashley Summers of Mount Hope, Ryan Evans and Chase Evans both of Charlottesville, VA, Tina Fitzgerald of Bradley and Jeff Evans and wife Amber of Shady Spring; seven great-grandchildren.
Friends may gather with family Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home from 10am-12pm.
Funeral service will be held 12pm, Wednesday, February 1, 2017 with Pastor Junior Plumley officiating.
Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with Wesley Bowden, Stanley Pressley, Sam Elswick, Jeff Evans, Chris Evans and Darrell Clark serving as pallbearers.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Pamela Pannell who took the time to make her last days more comfortable and to the nursing staff at Harper Mills for their kindness and thoughtfulness.
