
Born on May 3rd, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Lora Lilly.
Lora was a graduate of Spanishburg High School and a member of the First Baptist Church of Shady Spring, having attended for well over 60 years. Her faithful devotion to the Lord led her to help create the clothes closet, serve as treasurer of the benevolent fund, serve as a Sunday school teacher for over 30 years as well as serve as a choir member for 50 years.
She also helped her husband start and run their business, “Ray’s Leisure Time Shop”.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Lora Sue “Susie” (Skelton) Kidd; sisters, Nora Mae Lilly Cloum, Mabel Lilly Pennington, Delila “Bunny” Lilly McBride, and Deloris “Cupid” Lilly; brother, Orla Lee Lilly, Eric Reginald Lilly and Oka Allen Lilly.
Her surviving siblings include a sister, Orlena Virginia “Deanie” Lilly Wilson, and a brother, James Franklin Lilly.
Also, those left to cherish her memory include a son, John Dwight Skelton and wife Cathy Lynn Israel Skelton; grandson, Gary Dwight Skelton, great-grandchildren, Dylan Skelton and Kylie Skelton; granddaughter, Kimberly Dawn Skelton Hartmere and husband Benjamin Stephen Hartmere; great-grandchildren, Ryan Hartmere, Caroline Hartmere and Avery Hartmere; granddaughter, Alyssa Nicole Skelton Conder and husband David Ray Conder; grandchildren, Lailynn Conder and Lexton Conder; Son, Michael Ray Skelton and wife Barbara Lynn Meadows Skelton; grandson, Christopher Michael Skelton; granddaughter, Courtney Patton Skelton, great-grand daughters, Bella Skelton and Savannah Skelton; a grandson , Joshua Andrew Skelton and wife Jennifer Lilly Skelton; great- granddaughter, Emily Skelton; granddaughter, Lindsey Marie Skelton Williams and husband Derek Williams, and great-grandchildren, Brynlee Williams, Emalyn Williams and Crew Williams; a daughter, Elizabeth “Libby” Marie Skelton Pollack and husband “Fenway” Andrew Michael Pollack; granddaughter, Claire Julianne, and grandson Ryan John Michael. She is also survived by her daughter Susie’s children, Daniel Aaron Kidd; grandchildren, Emma Kidd and Lily Kidd and Briahna Lora Kidd Graham and grandchildren, Zackary Toler, Lora Toler, Kendra Toler, and Jacob Kidd McDonald.
Funeral services for Lora will be on Friday, January 9th, 2026 at 1PM at Shady Spring First Baptist Church. The family will receive visitors one hour prior. Lora will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park following the service.
