Margaret June Mason

Margaret J. Mason, 87, of Daniels, WV, our precious mother, peacefully entered her Lord’s presence on December 3, 2023. She was born on September 7, 1936, at Saulsville, WV, to the late Grant and Mildred Mercer.

Margaret was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. On the surface she was a private, quiet person, but those who got to know her well enjoyed Margaret’s quick wit and fun personality. Although her official title was Keeper of the Home, those closest to Margaret also considered her to be the family doctor and counselor because she was quick to offer advice to all those hurting in body and/or spirit.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clyde Mason; a son, Terry Mason; a daughter, Pamela Combs and husband, Eddie Combs; and a sister, Greta Greco Cook.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Michael Mason and wife, Tresia, of Coal City; a daughter, Sheila Lilly and husband, Ken, of Daniels; honorary daughter, Sonya; three grandchildren, Derek Combs and wife Rachel, of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; Leigh Mason and husband Jubal McMillion of Fairdale; Hannah Lilly of Daniels; one great granddaughter, Leetha McMillion, of Fairdale; family friend, Cheryl VanMaasdam; and a treasury of other dear friends.

According to Margaret’s wishes a private celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Following the celebration she will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Beckley, WV.
