He was born on April 26, 1924 on Crab Orchard, WV to the late Jennings Bryant and Pina Ruth Gray Farley. He was of the Baptist faith last attending Cales Chapel Church in Coal City. He worked as a coal miner and a carpenter until becoming disabled, living some of his life in Newport News, Virginia and most of his life in Sullivan, WV. Page enjoyed gardening, going to family reunions where he loved to play horseshoes, playing his guitar, and spending time with family and friends. He was also a personal driver and escort for Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt and spoke of conversations he had with her. Page wore “many hats” in his life and was a hard worker, a good uncle, brother, son, husband, and friend.
He was preceded in death by his wife of almost 65 years, Rosalee, brothers; Homer, Billy Joe Farley, sister Kathleen and sister-in-law Joy Farley. He is survived by his sister Shelby Jean (Pete) Fitzhugh of Martinsburg, WV, sister-in-law Norma Farley of Arnett, WV and brother-in-law Cecil Miller of Hinton, WV, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be Sunday, August 12, 2018 at 2PM at Blue Ridge Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Lusk officiating. Friends may call from 12 noon until time of service. He will be laid to rest beside of Rosalee in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
Friends and family will serve as pallbearers. Music and songs will be provided by Helen James and Darrell Meadows.
