Ramona D Arthur

“Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies.” Ramona D. Arthur, age 88, of Piney View, WV was welcomed into her Savior’s arms on August 25, 2020 following a short illness surrounded by her family. She was born on August 14, 1932 at Stonewall, WV to the late Clyde and Brownie Pfadt. In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold R. Arthur and her brother, Hugh “Judge” Pfadt.

“Many women do noble things but you surpass them all.” Ramona was a lifelong member of Piney View Bible Church and cherished her church family. Her sweet, loving, and compassionate spirit was evidence of her relationship with her Lord. She was an active member of her church serving as Treasurer, teaching Sunday School, Pioneer Girls, Bible School and was involved in Lady’s Fellowship. She welcomed many missionaries, evangelists, ministers and their spouses into her home for meals, lodging and fellowship. Ramona was a loving homemaker and dedicated her life to caring for her family. She loved babysitting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, spending time with her family on the Greenbrier River, and eating out with all of her friends.

“Her children rise up and call her blessed, her husband also and he praises her.” Those left to cherish Ramona’s memory include one daughter, Rebecca and husband, Douglas Patton of Beckley, WV; and two sons, Tim Arthur of Piney View, WV and Mark and wife, Lena Arthur of Piney View, WV. One sister, JoAnn Hutchison of Beckley, WV. Grandchildren include: Kristie and husband, Benny Warden of Beckley, WV; Stephanie and husband, Shad Todd of Beckley, WV; Jenny Arthur of Beckley, WV; Molly Arthur of Birmingham, AL; Jeremy and wife, Rachel Tussey of Germantown, OH; Ryan and wife, Sarah of Beckley, WV; Ben and wife, Tori of Beckley,WV. Great-grandchildren include: Allie, Maddie, Tristan, Lexie, Alec, Gracie, Reid, Braxten, Alivia, Laken, Finley and Emma, along with many nieces, nephews and special friends.

“A woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.” Services for Ramona will be held at Piney View Bible Church on August 30, 2020 at 3 pm with Dr. Daniel Carfrey, Rev. Cecil Smith, and Dr. Dan Anderson officiating. Pallbearers include: Benny Warden, Shad Todd, Reid Warden, Jeremy Tussey, Ryan Tussey, Ben Tussey, Tristan Tussey, Braxton Tussey and Jesse Arthur. Friends may gather with the family from 1:30 to 3pm. Graveside service and burial to follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
