Mr. Robert Andrew Cumby

Mr. Robert A Cumby, age 94, of Amigo, West Virginia passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025. Born February 14, 1931, in Amigo, WV he was the son of the late Edward Sullivan and Lucille Brandstetter.

Robert loved gardening, birds, fishing, hunting, golf, gospel music, playing his guitar, reading his Bible and talking with friends. He was a retired coal miner, having worked over five decades in the mining industry both as a welder and electrician. He was also a long-time member of the Rhodell Church of God.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Cora Jane Morarity Cumby, daughters Betty Rose and Diane Wrenn, son David Cumby, brothers Buddy, and Jimmy and his sisters, Frances Smith and Geraldine Church.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters Sandra Shrewsbury and companion Arnold Linkous, and Janet Kiblinger and husband Marty; his son in law Larry Wrenn, 9 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren.

Services will be held on Thursday July 24, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Blue Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Sister Vicky Buzminsky officiating. Friends may gather with the family from 1:00 pm until the time of the service.

Robert will be laid to rest at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.

Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
